Something My Mother Taught Me

One particular quality that my mother has, that I've always respected and admired, is her ability to be passionate about the things her children are passionate about.

I know people don't love art the way I do. The way I drone on and on about Modern art bores lots of people.

But the thing I love about my mom is that she doesn't criticize me for this. She doesn't question what I will do with my life, graduating with a Humanities degree. But she'll send me links for cool art exhibits and museums.

She reads books I've liked.
She watches movies I've liked.
And she even reads my blog.

And the other thing is, she does that for all of us. My mother never loved football until she watched my brothers play.

It's a quality I hope to have one day.

So here's to you mom. Thanks for trying out the things I love.

Love you
