I hope they call me on a....

There's something I've been keeping a bit of a secret.

Only, I've realized recently that the secret is pretty obvious. So, I might as well start telling people outright.

In the fall, I will be serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I decided to wait to really make the big announcement until I could tell my younger siblings in person. Now that I have, I can hardly stop telling people.

Today I went to the doctor's to get all my tests done, and make sure I'm fit for everything. So far, so good. I do have to go back in on Thursday just to make certain I don't have TB. (I think we're safe there though)

Dentist tomorrow. (but that should be smooth sailing since I've already had my wisdom teeth out)

And then, we're all set folks.

It's finally starting to hit. The reality of it all.

I suppose the decision to serve really came a few months ago, when I started interviewing sisters for my Called to Serve Project. (This was one of the more pivotal interviews for me)

But this scripture is what really settles it for me. It's the reason I want to be a missionary. But not just for 18 months; but every day for the rest of my life.

Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble.
-Mosiah 28:3

The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me more joy than I can ever begin to say. I don't know where I would be without the foundation of my faith. I'd imagine it would be a pretty dark and scary place though. The thought that other people don't have that comfort in their life makes me so sad. I want people to find the same happiness I've found.
Wherever I'm called to serve, I know it will be the right place.

As soon as the plane touches down in Provo, I'll be turning my papers in. So, only a couple of weeks after that, and we should find out where I'll be going!
